A3 Nurturing students

I constantly look for ways to celebrate with my students. This evidence showcases an email exchange I had with a parent organising for her son to be acknowledged in a whole school assembly for winning a local competition.

This was especially pleasing because this student was very quiet in class and I wanted him and his peers to celebrate his achievement so his confidence would grow. I backed up this award in the assembly by further acknowledging this student' achievement and talents in class, he was very proud indeed.

The relationship between the student and myself flourished after this event and he had a wonderful year in my class, achieving significant learning in all areas. I am subsequently teaching this boy's brother this year, partly due to the positive relationships I have built with this family.
