A2 PYP trained educator

As part of my teaching experience I have trained as a Primary Years Programme educator. I undertook an online course to prepare for my International teaching placement and then once in China I continued to study with a view to becoming competent in teaching in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme that my school used.

Having completed this training and subsequently teaching through the PYP model has benefitted my teaching because it enables me to integrate parts of the inquiry learning model into my concept teaching. I know that by giving students space and time to inquire into their learning I can help them develop deeper learning that is more likely to be connected to them. My students often develop their own inquiries which they then take charge of to construct learning.
